Columbia-Greene Media recently published Bob Beyfuss’ reflections on the 2022 Southern Ohio Forest Farming Conference, which took place at the United Plant Savers Botanical Sanctuary in Rutland, Ohio.

“That particular part of Ohio has some of the most diverse and beautiful deciduous forests I have ever seen,” writes Beyfuss. We couldn’t agree more!

The 2022 Southern Ohio Forest Farming Conference provided participants with opportunities to learn about multiple forest farming topics and strategies, including plant propagation, site selection, mushroom cultivation, timber stand improvements for NTFP production, business planning and marketing as well as herb walks and wild edible plant walks. The conference had a great line-up of highly experienced instructors – including Ed Fletcher, Joanna Amorim, Rick Felumee, Will Lewis, Chip Carroll, Tanner Filyaw, Karam Sheban, Badger Johnson, and others, in addition to keynote speaker Bob Beyfuss – who helped participants gain a broad understanding of the many facets and opportunities of forest farming.
