Planting the Future one seed at a time…
Introducing the idea of at-risk medicinal plant conservation to herbalism students is essential to the mission of United Plant Savers. To help facilitate this introduction, UpS offers a special student membership of $20 per student for all schools, apprentice programs, and training courses that enroll their students as a group.
When your school/program joins Partners in Education, you and your students will have access to all UpS publications on the ‘Member Resource’ page including the ‘Education Guide’, the ‘Take Action! Guide’, the UpS ‘At-Risk’ Presentation, and back issues of our Journal of Medicinal Plant Conservation. Your school/program will also receive a free copy of the UpS “Planting the Future” and “The Medicinal Herb Grower” by Richo Cech of Horizon Herbs. Your school/program will be also be listed in our Journal of Medicinal Plant Conservation, on our website and social media channels. In addition, your school/program will have the opportunity to promote classes, workshops, and events on our website and social media channels. Please remember that all members of United Plant Savers are eligible to apply for Community Grants and the Botanical Sanctuary Network as well as participate in our Seed and Root dispersals in the Spring and Fall.
Join us in our mission to Plant the Future through the conservation of our native medicinal plants.
Enrolling your school in our Partners in Education program requires your school maintain a membership to United Plant Savers at the educational/non-profit level of $50/year. This membership must be renewed annually in order to maintain your enrollment in the program. Once your school obtains your membership, there are two ways to sign your students up:
1. The simplest way is to add $20 to the program tuition fee, then automatically enroll each of your students as members of UpS.
2. Or, at one of your early classes, offer the students the opportunity to join Ups for the $20 student member fee. You or one of the students can collect the fees and send the information in.
In either situation, each student will receive all the benefits of becoming a United Plant Savers member, including our informative annual Journal of Medicinal Plant Conservation, opportunties to participate in plant and seed giveaways twice a year, membership discounts at UpS conferences and workshops, and the opportunity to help make a difference.
We do require that all students who enroll in Partners In Education send in their fees together. The following information must accompany payments:
(a) School/Program name, mailing address, contact person, and current contact email for school
(b) names of each student
(c) mailing address for each student
(d) current email address for each student
Send the above information with payments to United Plant Savers/Partners in Education,PO Box 147 Rutland, OH 45775. Or call (740)742-3455 for alternative payment options.
