    May 4 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, Rutland, OH — Join us as we discuss the American Elderberry (Sambucus canadensis), a versatile flowering and fruit-bearing shrub that can be used in the landscape, pantry, and medicine chest! We will discuss the basics of the elderberry life cycle, plant uses/products, growing conditions and site preferences, and cultivation strategies for fruit, flower, and planting stock production.

    One of the most important aspects of growing goldenseal and medicinal plants is proper harvesting, and post-harvest processing and handling techniques. This workshop will focus on these later stages of the production process, but will include an overview of the cultivation basics.
